BTEC Level 3 Advanced Certificate – Anatomy, Physiology and Massage
The CSSRM Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage is run as either an intensive course over two consecutive weeks (10 days), or on a flexible basis to suit student availability. In both cases the final examination will be held approx. 8 weeks after the end of the training to allow time for students to complete homework assignments and case studies.

Course time is split approx: 50% practical and 50% theory with the following subjects being covered:
- Holistic massage techniques
- Business awareness and professional ethics
- Anatomy and physiology, including:

Course Assessment
The BTEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage is continually assessed throughout and consists of a number of written assignments and practical assessments, as follows:
| Home study assignments: |
comprises three written assignments which together are expected to take a minimum of 30 hours to successfully complete |
| Practical assessments: |
comprises 2 practical assessments which will take place during workshop time |
| Practical treatments: |
students will be expected to complete a minimum of 20 practice treatments which are to be recorded in a logbook (provided) |
| Final examination: |
the final examination consists of a 3 hour written exam followed by a 1 hour practical assessment. |
Award
Successful practitioners will receive a certificate from the CSSRM and BTEC. This qualification is nationally recognized and will enable you to work as a Professional Massage Therapist and obtain full comprehensive insurance.
Course Fees
The cost of the course is £995 for the intensive format and £595 for the flexible option. A deposit of £235 will be required with the balance of payment due to be settled by the first day of the course.
Students may pay the remaining balance by standing order over 2 months (intensive course only), however there will be an administration charge of £50 for using this facility, payable along with the deposit.
BTEC Diploma – Sports Massage and Injury Rehabilitation
The CSSRM diploma in Sports Massage and Injury rehabilitation comprise a series of workshops taken over 8 2 or 3-day workshops.
The workshops are predominantly practically based, covering a wide range of subjects and practical techniques necessary to become a Sport & Remedial Massage practitioner.

the final examination takes place on the final day of the course. It will consist of a 3 hour written exam followed by a 1½ hour practical assessment. |

Course Fees
The cost of the course is £1485. A deposit of £285 will be required with the balance of payment due to be settled by the first day of the course.
Students may pay the remaining balance by direct debit over 3 months, however there will be an administration charge of £50 for using this facility, payable along with the deposit.
BTEC Diploma – On Site Massage
The BTEC Diploma in On Site massage consists of 2 2-day workshops plus a single examination day. The workshops are predominantly practically based but do involve some study on the physical and psychological causes and effects of stress.
The practical element of the course introduces the student to acupressure techniques to treat areas of the body typically affected by stress, namely the back, neck, shoulders and upper limbs.

Course Assessment
The CSSRM course is continually assessed throughout and consists of a number of written assignments and practical assessments, as follows:

The cost of the course is £350. A deposit of £100 will be required with the balance of payment due to be settled by the first day of the course.
Short Courses
Advanced Massage Workshops
These workshops are run over 2 days and are designed to provide the practitioner with additional deep tissue massage skills to help with treatment of remedial injuries
Workshop 1 – Deep Tissue Massage (worth 10 CPD points)
This workshop provides the practitioner with a variety of deep tissue massage techniques using different parts of the body, e.g. knuckles, elbows etc. In addition, the workshop introduces the practitioner to the basics of some specialised tension release techniques such as Soft Tissue Release and Muscle energy Technique.
There will be a maximum of 10 places available on the workshop.
